It’s not the words.
It’s not the flowers.
It’s not the gifts.
The most precious thing we can give someone is our time. It doesn’t matter if it was an hour, a day, or a lifetime. When we give our time, we give a piece of our life that will never return. The time I am referring to has no rush, no distractions, only full presence.
It’s that moment when we put our phones away, we stop believing to being multitasking and look into the eyes of the person in front of us.
It’s in the moments we truly listen to a friend in need, without checking the time.
It’s in an afternoon spent with an aging parent, allowing memories to flow slowly.
It’s in sitting beside a child, fully immersed in their world of imagination.
When we give our time, it’s an act of pure generosity, a gesture that tells someone: “You matter. Your story deserves to be heard. Your presence makes a difference.”
And remember that many people won’t ask for our time. Not because they don’t need it, but because they are shy, or afraid of being a burden. Be generous. Offer it before they ask.
